Dr. Bonham

Paul Bonham DDS MS

Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics

Dr. Bonham began full time practice in 1987 following completion of orthodontic residency at the University of Oklahoma, College of Dentistry where he earned a Specialty Certificate in orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in orthodontics. He completed Dental School in 1985, graduating in the top 5% of his class having earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Bonham also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma.

In 1992, Dr. Bonham earned status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, becoming one of the youngest orthodontists in the country to achieve this recognition.

After 20 years of successful practice in the deserts of Arizona, Dr. Bonham relocated to the Island of Maui to cool off and enjoy a gentler pace of life. He joined the highly respected orthodontic practice of Dr. Charles Bedell in the town of Kahului. Dr. Bonham feels very privileged to provide full time orthodontic care to the wonderful people of Maui.

Dr. Bonham is an active member of numerous professional groups including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Hawaii State Dental Association, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. He believes that it is vital to continue updating his education by attending professional meetings, scientific lectures, and advanced education courses in the fields of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. By staying current with advances in the field of orthodontics, Dr. Bonham is able to provide patients with well founded, scientifically sound treatment that is up to date.

Outside of the office, Dr. Bonham's special interests include addressing the issues of community hunger and planting trees to improve the environment. In his spare time, Dr. Bonham can be found kite surfing, enjoying a variety of water sports, traveling and fly fishing in remote corners of the globe.
